The Bike Migration is offering safe and convenient bicycle transportation from Johannesburg/Pretoria to Port Elizabeth and back for triathletes participating in the 2020 Ironman South Africa race on Sunday 14 March 2021.

Bike transport will be charged at the below rates.

This cost includes all packing material, boxes and handling in order to transport your bike from Johannesburg/Pretoria to Port Elizabeth and back.

You may add extra items like foot pumps, small bags, helmets and shoes into the bike box at no extra cost. Please ensure that all items are clearly marked.

Triathletes can drop off their bikes in Johannesburg and Pretoria on the following dates and times:

Take note of the following times when bikes have to be dropped off with The Bike Migration after completion of the race:

Bikes must be dropped off as soon as possible after the bike park opens, after completion of the race. Any bikes not delivered during these times will NOT be transported back to Johannesburg/Pretoria by The Bike Migration.

Take note of the following date and times when bikes can be collected:

Bikes not collected by 15:00 on 18 March will go into storage at Dunkeld Cycles and attract a storage fee of R100 per bike per day. Arrangements must be made with us to collect your bike.

PRETORIA COLLECTION

Bikes not collected by 17:00 on 18 March will go into storage in Pretoria and attract a storage fee of R100 per bike per day. Arrangements must be made with us to collect your bike.

Please note

We will be transporting a large number of bikes to and from Port Elizabeth. We thus cannot make any exceptions regarding collection drop off dates and times. Dates and times are to be strictly adhered to and bikes will only be accepted and made available during these times.

Bookings can be made online via credit card, or through EFT. We need to receive EFT payments within 24 hours of when a booking was made, else we will not accept the booking.

A confirmation of booking email will be sent upon receiving the booking. This confirmation email will also contain a booking reference number. Your booking will only be confirmed after payment has been received.

Please note that we will be making use of specially designed cardboard boxes in order to transport the bikes. When dropping off your bike, we will unclip the front wheel of the bike, and then place the bike, together with the wheel, in the box. We will cover the detached wheel in bubble wrap so as to ensure no damage to the wheel or the bike.

When dropping off the bike, all devices which are not permanently fastened to the bike, such as speedometers, cadence meters, heart rate monitors, water bottles, etc. can also be placed inside the box so as to ensure that none of our cyclists lose any of their expensive equipment.
